A significant event took place in Galway today – the opening of the Ukrainian hub “Palyanytsya”. The venue for the opening of the Ukrainian hub was hospitably provided by the Westside Community Center.
Many Ukrainians gathered at that time. Before the opening, people were able to register for free to participate in the raffle of valuable gifts. During the celebration, Ukrainians sang the anthem of Ukraine, “Oh, in the meadow red viburnum”! The children recited poems and received wonderful gifts for it. Holders of lucky lottery tickets received cash certificates for visiting the Dunnes Stores store, which was given to us by the group of “Active Pensioners Westside”, as well as many interesting and useful gifts from Flying tiger copenhagen.
Every Ukrainian who has been granted asylum in Ireland and lives in the county of Galway now has the opportunity to get free clothes, shoes, both for children and adults, personal hygiene products, toys for children.
In addition, people have the opportunity to communicate, solve their problems, find like-minded people.
On the first day, more than 500 Ukrainians visited the Palyanytsya hub.
It was nice to see the faces of happy children and adults. At the end of the opening ceremony of “Palyanytsya” children and adults had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious homemade cake, which was baked and presented by families from the Ukrainian diaspora in Galway.
Thanks to the Association of Ukrainians in Ireland, the Galway City Partnership, the Galway City Council and a team of volunteers led by Artem Kvashyn, our people received a share of kindness and positivity, took care of themselves.
We sincerely express our gratitude to our Irish friends for the great heart, understanding and support of Ukrainians.
From now on, Palyanytsya will be open to visitors from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.
