The Irish government has changed the rules, giving Ukrainians access to the CE labour program

The government recently assessed the right to community service under the CE program for people fleeing the war in Ukraine. The required total 12-month stay on social benefits, which requires access to CE, has also been reduced to 9 months. 

This employment program allows CE sponsoring organizations to provide work and training opportunities to Ukrainians, with adaptation mechanisms.

Community employment at the expense of people in the local community through work. and better quality and successful adaptation of Ukrainians in Irish society and transition from unemployment to employment with minimal stress.

During the program, participants are offered hands-on on-site training in addition to external learning opportunities for further career plans. Working hours can be part-time in local communities: 19 ½ hours a week or 39 hours a fortnight. A big advantage of starting work with this program is that you can get individual training and support, and access to certified training and development, essentially an important step towards permanent skilled work.

Initial contracts are offered for 1 year but can be extended subject to ongoing training. The following will also be retained: medical card and back-to-school assistance.

CE also supports DSP and offers exciting job opportunities in many sectors:

• Social network administrators
• Watchmen/Maintenance
• Sports
• Accounting
• Gardening
• Culture
