Vyshyvanka Day

May 22, 2022. The Mayor of Drogheda, Pio Smith, led the festive march on the occasion of the All-European Vyshyvanka Day.

On Sunday 22nd of May 2022  Drogheda town experienced a vibrant manifest ‘Vyshyvanka Day’ organised by Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland (AURI), Ukrainian Crisis Center with the great support of local government Councillor Pio Smith Chair of Louth County Council and Michael O’Dowd. Traditional embroidered colours from our ethic roots colourfully added to occasion while receiving spontaneous applause, passing cars sounded their hornes and smiles of support from local people along the streets from Peter’s Church to the heart of Drogheda – St. Laurence’s Gate.
